AI Labs Are Licensing Real Troubleshooting Know-How
AI labs pay to license real troubleshooting know-how, directly from the teams that do the work. Public forums show bits and pieces of a fix. Your ticket history shows the whole thing: the problem, every step your tech took, and what worked. AI models get better by learning from real examples of skilled work, and that’s what makes this data worth paying for.
Years of IT support tickets written by your techs, before AI tools, are the hardest data for AI labs to find.
Deals handled by one company’s data marketplace, with over $10M expected back to the companies licensing their data by the end of 2026.

Before anything leaves, client names, passwords and IPs are removed on your own server.
What Your Tickets Can Earn You
Real ticket history from working techs is the kind of data AI labs still need and are happy to pay for.
Extra Revenue
New support tickets can be licensed again as your history grows, so each fresh batch is another chance to earn.
A New Company Asset
A licensed dataset is a lasting asset that adds value to your MSP.
What Buyers Want Most
What You Get Either Way
Even if you decide not to license your data, a Side Gig Data review leaves you with:
We Guide You Through Each Step
- 1
Quick 15-Minute Intro Call
We talk about your PSA and history, then send your free payout range. No files, no access.
- 2
Data Rights Check
We sign an NDA, then review your client agreements to see which tickets you can license.
- 3
De-identify Your Data
We strip out passwords and swap client names, devices and IPs for codes, all on systems you own.
- 4
Ready to License
We help you review offers and pick a buyer, then you grant the license.
Potential for Recurring Revenue
For MSPs with steady ticket volume, new history can become new batches to license. Side Gig Data cleans and sorts it on a schedule, and you approve every batch before it goes anywhere.
Your Data Stays Protected
Every ticket describes a client’s systems. Buyers want the troubleshooting. Your clients’ details come out first. Here’s one ticket as it moves through cleanup. All on your server.
Would you be comfortable if a client saw exactly what left your server? Here’s the answer, one ticket at a time.
Every step below runs on your own server. Only the tokenized dataset leaves it, licensed to the buyer.

How Does Side Gig Data Help?
We Review Every MSA
Clients whose agreements don't allow it are left out. So are co-managed records that belong to a client's own IT team.
Regulated Clients Are Cut by Default
Healthcare, finance and government accounts are excluded unless you approve them.
Names, Hosts and IPs Are De-identified
Client names, users, hostnames, domains and IPs are replaced consistently, so the fix stays readable and every identity stays hidden.
Credentials Never Ship
Every record gets a secret scan. Flagged tickets get a human review or come out.
Side Gig Data helps tokenize your data for quick licensing to AI labs.
- Passwords, API keys and tokens
- Network diagrams and firewall configs
- Security incident details
- Screenshots and recordings
- Client-specific documentation
- Any client who says no
- Protected industries: healthcare, finance and government

Questions MSP Owners Ask
Do I need to give you access to my servers?
No. You install Side Gig Data on a server or cloud account you own, and it runs there under your control. It cleans your PSA export on your own system, removing secrets and tokenizing identities. Only the cleaned dataset leaves, after you approve a preview. You can pause or remove it anytime. Here’s what never ships.
Do I need my clients’ permission?
We review every MSA. Clients whose agreements don’t allow it are left out, and so is any client who says no. We’ll help you write a client notice if you want one. See how clients stay protected.
What does this mean for my techs?
Your team keeps working the same way. You license ticket history you already have, and taking part is entirely your call.
What agreements will I sign?
An NDA before our first real conversation, a data processing agreement before any work starts, and a license with the buyer that limits how the data can be used. You keep ownership of your data, and you can stop at any step.
What’s it worth, and what does it cost me?
No buyer publishes MSP prices yet, so your free payout range gives you an estimate up front. Actual buyer offers come later, and you approve each one. Even short ticket notes can hold value through escalations and projects. Your time is a 15-minute call and a few hours of exports. Our fee is 15% of what you’re paid, nothing upfront, and declining an offer costs you nothing. New tickets can be licensed later if you choose.
Why should I care now?
As AI tools spread through MSPs, more ticket notes will be written or assisted by AI. AI labs specifically want work written by people, so the years of notes your techs wrote themselves are becoming rarer and more valuable. Licensing that history lets you earn from it while buyers are actively looking, and new tickets can still be licensed on a schedule.
Could I do this in-house?
You can. You’d need to review every client agreement, build secret scanning and tokenizing for your PSA, find buyers who take MSP data, and negotiate the license. That’s months of work, and it repeats with every new batch. With us it’s a few hours of your time, and with nothing upfront you only pay if it works.
Who licenses the data?
AI labs that train models on real IT support work. You see the buyer, the price and the terms before anything is licensed, and you can say no.
Is there demand for my support tickets?
Demand today is strongest for English-language tickets with detailed tech notes. We review your history, then bring you offers. You see the buyer, price and terms, and you decide.
How much work is this for my team?
A few hours from whoever runs the export. Exports come from your PSA’s reporting or API tools and don’t touch live tickets. There’s no set minimum, and several years of tickets with real tech notes makes a strong dataset.
What happens after I reach out?
We set up a 15-minute call about your PSA and history, then send your free payout range. Nothing else happens unless you decide to go ahead.
I run a small shop. Can I take part?
Yes. We combine tickets from smaller MSPs into larger datasets, and each shop is paid for its share.
Do my tickets need to be in English?
Today most buyer demand is for English-language tickets from MSPs in the US, UK and Canada. Tell us where you’re based on the intro call and we’ll confirm the fit.
What happens to my data after it’s licensed?
It’s used only for the purpose in your license, kept for an agreed period, then deleted. You review a sample before anything is used, and you keep ownership of your data.
